Abstract | الملخص

This study aims at investigating the degree of practicing critical thinking skills by science teachers and its relationship with scientific thinking skills and achievement of their students in the science curriculum in the intermediate stage. The study population consisted of all science teachers and students in the intermediate stage during the first semester (1438/1439 A.H). The sample was randomly chosen and consisted of (43) teachers and (43) students in the basic stage. To achieve the study goals, the science teacher’s critical thinking questionnaire and the scientific thinking questionnaire for intermediate stage students were applied in the city of Tabuk. The results showed that the level of critical thinking by science teachers and students in the intermediate stage was medium and weak, respectively. There is also a directly proportional correlative relationship between critical thinking by teachers and scientific thinking and achievement by students. Furthermore, there exists a correlative relationship between scientific thinking and achievement by students when isolating their relationship with their teacher’s critical thinking. The study recommends to employ the critical thinking skills by teachers and the scientific thinking skills by students
