Spatial Modeling to Analyze the Relationship Between Population Density and the Density of the Health Service of the Kirkuk City Using Geographical Information Systems

Abstract | الملخص

The process of location selection for social services in cities occupies a wide range in almost all planning and geographical studies, based on the importance in social and economic style in the cities. After the increase of urban population dramatically and randomly geographical distribution services scatter, the concentrated populations are having high demand on the some of the service in studied areas, which generated a great pressure on services and increased demand for them. Hence, after the importance of the study generated, which focused on building a model of the nature of the spatial relationship between population densities in the city of Kirkuk to the level of health services density (Health centers), Through the application of high-level technical methods by using GIS programs the results shows different levels of health service in map by circular coverages, In which have 54% of the total city suffers from deprivation of health service, and 71% of health service provide a low level service, based on the Iraqi planning standard (Radius 1km square) have only 5% good level in service. A review of the geographical distribution in health services is required in the city to ensure the service in all regions are balanced, referring on the maps of deprivation and the level of service levels according to the study results could be adopt it.
