The study aims to quantitatively analyze the efficiency of the internal road network in Amman city (Greater Amman Municipality area) in terms of connectivity and urban transportation -nodes, the degree of centralization of the nodes, accessibility, the best route of access from one place to another, and the shortest roads. In addition, the study aim to analyze the relationship between the density of road network from one side and the areas of Amman city districts and the density of their population. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive approach was used to describe the general characteristics of the internal road network in Amman –city, in terms of its geographical distribution, extension, and trends as well as using analytical approach for analyzing the efficiency of the internal road network in Amman. The results of the study showed that the road network in the city of Amman is well-connected in general, with the percentage of connectivity and the percentage of circuitry for the transportation nodes at (0.76) and (0.58), respectively. The results of the study indicate that there is a clear difference between the urban transportation nodes in terms of the degree of centralization of the nodes, where Ras Al-Ain ranked first by the number of links with (39) links, and Al-Abdali node ranked first by the length of links with a distance of 217.2 km. In this study, a digital geographical database was built for the road network in the city of Amman, which can be modified, updated and integrated.
