The Islamic Nation Interest in Moderation and Fighting Extremism and Exaggeration

Abstract | الملخص

Moderation is correlated with straightness, easiness, and removing difficulties. Exaggeration and negligence lead to disabling interests and to immoderateness, which means more difficulties, and that is reported in many verses of the Holly Qur'an. In addition, Prophet Mohammed – Peace Be Upon Him- has said that god has never sent him as a stubborn extremist prophet, rather he sent him as a facilitator teacher. Moderation is justice and wisdom and it is a core point in belief, legislation, worships and judgment. We find it in earning money and spending it, in the demands and desires of the soul. It is actually the balance of responsibilities between individuals and the whole community. We also find it between physical and spiritual sides, as well as, in ethics, telling the truth and justice, between easiness and difficulty, between hope and fear and in Samaha. Finally, it is doing the right thing in the right time. This study aimed to highlight the characterstics of moderation in the Holly Qur'an and the Sunnah of Prophet Mohammad- PBUH-, and fields of moderation in Islam. The researcher has concluded that moderation is a religious duty and a civilized demand, and that straightness, easiness and removing difficulties are characterstics of moderation. He has also concluded that the interest of the Islamic nation is in moderation, in addition to, fighting extremism, which threats the Islamic worlds nowadays. The researcher recommends that it is important to deeply root the concept of moderation in children and youth, in addition to the dialogue with others. He also recommends to clarify the moderation of Islam and its moderate approach. In addition, he recommends to work seriously and collaboratively to show the real Islam to the whole world, which has been distorted by many people.
